Romantic Thoughts...

Friday, April 22, 2011

The other day I was watching a movie called "The Wedding Date" and the hunky guy that was the main character's date said, "Every woman has exactly the type of relationship she wants."  I was thinking about that today...so many women have bad relationships, but they couldn't possibly want that.  However, the hunk is right.  Our relationships manifest based on what we're focused on.  So let's focus on beauty, laughter, spontaneity, loyalty, uplifting, love, kisses, intimacy, trust, honesty, warmth, comfort, sweetness, thoughtfulness, appreciation, and all of the other things we love about relationships...

Date Night: Dinner & Jazz Concert

Saturday, April 16, 2011

Hey everyone! You're in for a special treat.  I rarely double blog in the same day, but since my earlier blog was such a downer, I decided I want to tell everyone about the amazing date my boyfriend took me on today.

I know my day got off to a rough start...but I don't ever kid with people on this -- yelling and shouting don't work with me.  I don't expect everyone in the world to agree with me all of the time (even though I'm always right), and anyone is free to disagree with me...but don't disagree with me 8 octaves above normal speaking voice.  I don't handle or cope with that type of interaction well at all...and I'm sure my face says it all because my face is transparent to emotion.  Sometimes I wish I could hide what I'm really feeling...but I'm beyond that now.

I got my hair done!  Chanel always does a lovely job.  I even got highlights even though you can barely see them in this pic.  I'm also wearing the new maxi dress I bought from Asos.  I'll have to take more pics so you all can see how cute it is!

I've barely seen Malik all week, so I really wanted us to get some quality time in.  I let him pick a new restaurant that we've both never been to, to have dinner at tonight.  He picked Ardeo & Bardeo, which is  rated as one Washington's Top 100 restaurants.

It was very beautiful inside with an art deco modern style, and an intimate environment.

I ordered Lamb Ravioli with split peas, mushrooms, served over fried yogurt.  Sounds a bit 'out there' but it was so deeeelicious!  Every last bite was rich in flavor!

Malik ordered Scottish Salmon with english pea salad, pickled ramps, over a carrot puree.  It's very seldom that I see him completely satisfied with his food, but he couldn't stop talking about how good it was!  I had to steal a bite to see and it was very good!

I thought dinner was a special treat, but the real treat was the Eldar Jazz Concert my cutie pie took me to afterwards!

Eldar performed with his band...they are all unmarried by the way ladies...I checked the ring fingers ;D

They specialized in adapted versions of Jazz music as well as some original American Jazz inspired pieces.

Eldar and his band's talent is amazing!  My baby got us front row tables, so it was truly an excellent musical experience.

Over all this was a great date night with my honey bun :)  I truly do cherish the time we spend together.

Until next time...

Date Night: Home Cooking & Cuddling Up ♡ ♡ ♡

Monday, March 28, 2011

So last night was a very special night for me.  I was missing the guy that I've been seeing over that last 6 weeks.  I know I just saw him a few days ago, but it feels like forever!  His name is Malik, and he's one of the nicest guys I've met in a long time.  I prayed for a Christian man who is a gentleman, smart with money, intelligent, ambitious, thoughtful, giving, appreciative, tall, and handsome.  I want a man who is not afraid to do the right thing, a man who consciously tries to live his life in way that honors God, and a man who isn't afraid to speak his mind.  Malik is all of those things!

My mom steamed some jumbo shrimp yesterday so I took some over Malik's house last night along with French Artisan Bread and Mediterranean salad.  Me and my sweetie had dinner together.  Those shrimp were soooo good!  Then I worked on some homework while he looked over some of his investment papers.  I think its important for two people to enjoy each others company out in public, but also right at home too.  It doesn't matter if we're going to see a play or watching comedy on tv at home.  I love spending time with him!

Over the last few weeks we have definitely been getting closer.  Last night he asked me if I would be his girlfriend and of course I said yes! ◕‿◕ So now it's official!  I haven't been in a committed relationship in almost 4 years...isn't that crazy!  Well I'd like to think that I was waiting for him because I told myself I wouldn't get in a relationship just for the sake of not being alone.  I'm really excited to see where this goes!

Until next time...

Date Night: Barnum & Bailey's Circus ☆ ☆ ☆

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

I had such an amazing night tonight!  I got to bring out my inner child at Barnum & Bailey's Circus!  Of course this is yet another one of my honeybun's creative dates.  He's sooo good to me.  I love how he spoils me in the littlest ways. A girl could get used to this! ◕‿-

The body benders were my favorite performance during the whole show!  They moved so gracefully with strength and bent their bodies in ways the human body shouldn't be able to.  Check out the video, it's pretty amazing!

Afterwards, we went to check out the City Paper event at Public Bar.  That seemed pretty lame and all the freebies were gone, so we went out to dinner at a nice Italian restaurant called Posto on 14th st.  I ordered seafood spaghetti which was really good and came in a large portion.  I think my date ordered veal served with asparagus, but he didn't seem too impressed with it.

I had a splendid time!  If this boy keep treating me so good, I'm gonna end up keeping him all for myself LOL!  I wish the night didn't have to end...

Date Night: Snuggling Up & Cinnamon Fried Bananas

Monday, March 21, 2011

I'm still pretty upset that I missed last night's game and I didn't get to see my honeybun.  It's weird, I'm missing him like crazy even though I see him all of the time!  So this evening I'm going to go spend some quality time with him after work.  I want to surprise him since he's always taking me to nice places and getting me sweet gifts like boxes of chocolate.  I'm planning on bringing over some fresh bananas to make one of my favorite desserts...cinnamon fried bananas.  They are really really easy to make!  You just peel and cut the bananas in half, then fry them in a pan with light butter till they soften, sprinkle them with cinnamon sugar, and serve with ice cream!  ♡♡

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Hop" ❧ ❧ ❧

Saturday, March 19, 2011

I had so much fun at the blues concert last night!  Well I spent the night over at my date's house because this morning he wanted to take me to the movie premiere of "Hop".  You know...that cute easter bunny rabbit kids movie that's coming out!  The kids in the theatre were annoying, but the movie was absolutely adorable.  The bunny shits jelly beans!  How freaking cute is that! ⎝⏠⏝⏠⎠

Maybe I'll take my god-nieces to see this movie when it hits theaters on April 1st!  The only thing is there is some adult jokes in the movie that is not necessarily appropriate for children, but small kids won't get them anyways.  The only thing I thought was a bit too much for a kids movie was the part where E.B. the bunny goes to the Play Boy Mansion looking for a place to stay.  At least adults will be able to enjoy this cartoon, kinda the way adults like Shrek.

Date Night: Blues Concert ♪♩♫

Friday, March 18, 2011

Hey everyone!  I'm just getting back from yet another date with my honeybun.  I swear the honey just keeps getting sweeter!  This even we went to a blues concert at the States Theatre in Falls Church, VA.  Tommy Castro opened up for Tinsley Ellis and the show was amazing!  Who knew blues music was so sexy.  Just something about the music was so primal and sensual!  I loved it and enjoyed spending more time with the sweetie.  We are definitely getting closer and I'm loving it!

This is the dress I wore for my date!  The weather was refreshingly warm and spring-like, so of course I had to show off one of my favorite dresses.  Ladies this is what I would like to call a "get-a-nigga" dress...wearing a dress like this, if you don't already have a man, you will before the night is over! ◕‿-

I trimmed my bangs a little bit so they would stay out of my eyes.  I thought the braid would keep my hair from being to busy so it wouldn't take away from the dress.  Sometime simplicity is the sexiest way to go!  What do you all think?

Until next time...

Date Night: National Symphony Orchestra ♬♪♬♩

Thursday, March 17, 2011

Since I enjoyed the last symphony that my honeybun took me out to so much, he invited me to another one at the Kennedy Center.  Tonight we saw the National Symphony Orchestra perform along with sung German poetry.  It was a sad love story that punctuated the symphony's beautiful and dramatic classical music.  Too bad my honeybun wanted to beat his brains out because he hated the German singing LOL! >_< I however completely loved it and followed along in the program with the English translation.

I had to sneak these pictures in at the end because the ushers were kicking people out for unauthorized photography.  I always get my pictures!  These people must not know who I am ◕‿-

Also what do you all think of my hair?  I wanted to see what a lighter color would look like on me without dying my hair, so I bought the London wig by FreeTress.  She's nice and long, and a P4/27 color...so like a medium brown with strawberry blonde highlights.  Just trying out a new look, let me know if its a do or a don't!

Until next time...
