Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Soul Surfer"

Wednesday, March 30, 2011

So tonight Malik invited me to a children's charity function that allowed kids to meet the Washington National's baseball players. I brought my god-niece Andrea, but unfortunately it was extremely cold, rainy, and the line to meet the players was ridiculously long. Malik is truly amazing because he didn't let that ruin our evening. He took us to the movie premiere of Soul Surfer, which Andrea was dying to see.

The movie was really good!  God bless Malik's heart because he really wanted to see Hannah, but he took us to see a sappy chick flick instead.  Soul Surfer is really sad, but the main character pulls through.  Carrie Underwood is in this movie...let's just say that thank God she didn't have a big role because her acting is a little blah.  I think it is amazing that this is a true story and at the end you get to see some really nice footage of the girl the movie is based on.

I'm glad I got to see my cutie pie today!  This little excursion has completely worn me out though!  Bringing Andrea up to DC is a work out for sure.  Luckily my sexy man helped me load up her wheel chair in my car since it weighs 95 lbs!  I had a great time.  I made Andrea happy...Malik made me happy...and I think we just made Mailk tired LMAO!

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "I AM" ☮ ☮ ☮

Thursday, March 24, 2011

Today was simply a horrible day from start to finish.  This morning I woke up late and got chewed out by a 7 year old because I took her to school late.  My heart dropped when she told me it makes her feel silly when she walks into class late.

Then if that wasn't bad enough...I got a phone call from my piano teacher's husband informing me that she died yesterday from a serious blood infection that caused organ failure.  That broke my heart because she was a long time close friend of mine.  She's known me since I was 6 years old and first learning how to play the piano.  God I miss you so much Karen Clayton!  I've been such an emotional mess, just trying to hold it all together.  It didn't help when I was talking to my honeybun on the phone that he went off on a tangent about how non-believers go to hell no matter how good of people they are when I mentioned Karen wasn't Christian.  I burst into tears...but I didn't take it personal.

Then I thought I would find comfort at work because I love working with my teenage patient.  She always knows how to put a smile on my face...but her mom called me and had tense conversation with me.  I'm paid by the state to work in their private household as a nurse to her handicapable daughter.  The mom hooked me up with the job because I am practically family to them, and she felt as if I was ungrateful because I washed my patient's dishes, but I didn't clean up after the rest of her family.  My stance is that I'm not a maid and the state specifically pays me only to provide care to the patient and no one else in the household.  The mom really took the whole dishes thing seriously and wanted to fire me.  It just leaves a bad taste in my mouth because she feels like I am indebted to her.  I am thankful that she helped me get hired to take care of her daughter, but this is a business relationship.  She needed a nurse, and I am very qualified to do the job, and I provide those services.  I don't think I should be expected to do more than my position requires of me, especially when I go above and beyond for my patient in so many ways on my own accord anyways.  We're all adults and there are bigger problems than a few dishes, so I'm surprised it even became that big of a deal.  Even though we resolved the conflict and made up, I feel like her attitude about me being indebted to her is gonna end up biting me in the ass later and putting me out of a job.  It's hard working with family sometimes.  I need to find something better soon...

So I just knew that when I saw my honeybun later on for our date to the movie premiere of "I Am" my day would get sooo much better.  I drove allll the way up to DC to meet him at the movie theatre, only to realize that I forgot my wallet at home and I couldn't pay for parking.  He couldn't really help me out because he was holding our spot in the line for the movie that was about to start and if he left then we both wouldn't be able to see it.  So I told him to enjoy it without me because I didn't want to spoil his night, and I went home.  I just broke down in tears on the car ride home.  Today has just been so overwhelmingly stressful.  On top of that, the doctor wouldn't see me today because I was a few minutes late, and I'm behind in my school work.

The movie looks like it was a good documentary on life and giving.  I'm really sad that I missed it!  Well I can only go to sleep and pray that tomorrow is a much better day...

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Hop" ❧ ❧ ❧

Saturday, March 19, 2011

I had so much fun at the blues concert last night!  Well I spent the night over at my date's house because this morning he wanted to take me to the movie premiere of "Hop".  You know...that cute easter bunny rabbit kids movie that's coming out!  The kids in the theatre were annoying, but the movie was absolutely adorable.  The bunny shits jelly beans!  How freaking cute is that! ⎝⏠⏝⏠⎠

Maybe I'll take my god-nieces to see this movie when it hits theaters on April 1st!  The only thing is there is some adult jokes in the movie that is not necessarily appropriate for children, but small kids won't get them anyways.  The only thing I thought was a bit too much for a kids movie was the part where E.B. the bunny goes to the Play Boy Mansion looking for a place to stay.  At least adults will be able to enjoy this cartoon, kinda the way adults like Shrek.

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Jane Eyre" ♕ ♕ ♕

Thursday, March 10, 2011

Hey everyone! I'm just getting back from my date with one of the sweetest guys I know!  This man has been so good to me and I love how we're getting closer.  He took me to see the movie premiere of "Jane Eyre" at the E Street Cinema.  I felt bad because I was running kind of late, but it's only natural for me with the nature of work that I do.  My opinion of the movie...disappointing.  ^︵^ I thought the love story was so retarded LOL!  Jane falls for her boss...who is wish washy.  One minute he's all about her, the next minute he's talking about marrying another woman.  Then when all is said and done she decides to marry him, but something ruined her wedding day that in my book...is completely unforgivable.  That's where the love story would've ended if it starred me, miss Vivi!  I would've chopped off his private parts and mailed it to him.

Yeah...I wouldn't pay money to see this movie.  I couldn't get into it and I feel like the character development was poorly done.  I think it was a true story though...

Saturday me and the honeybun are going to a College Lacrosse Tournament in Baltimore and then later on in the day we're going to the Kennedy Center to see a Masonic Symphony.

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Limitless" ☆ ★ ☆

Wednesday, March 9, 2011

My sweetie invited me out on another date to a movie premiere tonight.  It was "Limitless" starring Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, and Robert DeNiro.  Let me tell you...this movie doesn't come out until March 18th...but it is GOOD!  It's definitely a must see and I would even pay to see it again.  It's about a man who stumbles across a pill that unlocks the 80% of your brain that normal people cannot access on a day to day basis.  His surge of intelligence, photographic memory, and ability to recall minute memories that most people can't leads him to a road of success and danger.  Check out the movie trailer!

Definitely grab either a lover or a friend and go see this movie.  It's totally worth it!

This was my outfit for tonight.  Normally I always where dresses and heels, but I decided to go with a more down to earth look.  The grey vest is designed by Buffalo and cost $99.00 and I wore I white screen tee with a cute chihuahua puppy image underneath.  Of course I rocked it out in my skinny jeans and grey boots, both bought from Forever 21.  Tomorrow we're going to another movie premiere for the movie "Jane Eyre".  Seems like a romance story, I hope it's good!

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Take Me Home Tonight"

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Goodevening! I'm just getting home from a double date ◕‿- The guy I've been dating recently took me out to see the Movie Premiere of "Take Me Home Tonight".  He introduced me to his good friend Karim and his lovely date.  Let me tell you...this movie was AMAZING!  I loved it!  We could not stop laughing, we were just about to tears!  Check out the trailer...

My date and I got cuddled up like two peas in a pod in the theatre.  ♥ He's really just a honey bun, and boy is the honey sweet!  I think its awesome that he's already introducing me to his friends.  You can tell someone likes you back if they start bringing you around people they know.  No one wants to bring somebody around their people if they're embarrassed by them LOL!

After the movie, we grabbed a bite to eat at Ledo's pizza.  We enjoyed some good conversation and some good food!  I'm getting to know him more and I like what I see so far.  He must be interested because we're going out yet again tomorrow night to the Kennedy Center to see the Indian play "Nati Binodini".  I'm really excited!

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Drive Angry" in 3D

Thursday, February 24, 2011

This cutie pie invited me out two nights in a row to yet another movie premiere!  I just got home from checking out "Drive Angry" in 3D starring Nicholas Cage before it hits the big screen.  I was really excited to go, but mostly so I could get cuddled up with this sexy guy. ^.~  Too bad the movie sucked!  You have to enjoy melodramatic bad acting and poor story lines if you're going to appreciate this movie.

At least we had fun goofing off with our 3D glasses ^__^.

Until next time...

Date Night: Movie Premiere of "Win Win"

Wednesday, February 23, 2011

Goodevening!  I'm just getting home from yet another amazing date with the honey bun ^.~  Tonight we went to see the movie premiere of "Win Win" starring Alex Schaffer and directed by Tom McCarthy.  This movie is charming and funny!  You'll definitely love the characters and relationships.  Check out the trailer!

The really amazing thing about this movie premiere was that Tom McCarthy and Alex Schaffer appeared for a Q&A session, and to autograph posters.  My honey bun made sure I got my poster autographed, so I'm really happy about that.  ^.^;;  He's such a sweetheart, it's hard to believe that a good guy like him is actually single.  There's gotta be a catch! Hmmm we will see ^_~

That's my date getting his poster autographed by Alex Schaffer!  His personality in real life is very humble and laid back, kind of just how his character was in the movie!

Until next time...

Girl's Nite Out: Dark Side of Chocolate Film Screening

Friday, February 4, 2011

I had an amazing time at Busboys last night.  I went with my bestie Arinah...but because she decided to wait till the last minute to primp, we missed seeing Suheir Hammad perform.  :P We enjoyed a delicious and rich dinner then Suheir Hammad was kind and humble enough to take pictures and speak with us.  So I was very happy about that!

That's me standing next to Suheir Hammad (the one with the hat), her friend in the green, and a fellow poet.  Suheir looked fabulous last night!

And here is my lovely and sophisticated friend Arinah posing with our star poetry ladies!  If she took off her coat for the picture she really would've upstaged our celebs ^___^!

This is me wearing my new floral dress from Forever 21, sitting pretty while waiting for dinner to be served!

This is my dinner!  I ordered Shrimp and Chicken Chorizo Pasta served in a tomato basil cream sauce.  It was absolutely delicious and well worth the $15.  I had a glass of fresh pomegranate juice with it.

This is Arinah's meal, she ordered Pan-seared Basil Tofu served with roasted red pepper risotto.  I'm not a fan of tofu, but I took a bite of hers and it was mouth wateringly yummy!  Her meal was only $13 and she had green tea as well.

After dinner at Busboys and mingling with Suheir, we made a pitstop at the hospital to say hello to my niece who is in the pediatric ward.  Here's Arinah posing for some camera play in the empty corridor of the hospital!  I love her hair!

And here I am showing off like the camera whore that I am!

There is another upcoming event at Busboys in Shirlington, VA on Tuesday February 8, 2011 at 7:00pm.  They will be hosting the flim screening of The Dark Side of Chocolate by Miki Mistrati.  This is definitely a must see film that unveils the dark and twisted reality of how most of our chocolate is made with the use of illegal child labor.  You can view the trailer at http://www.thedarksideofchocolate.org/

So bring your girlfriends and even your guy friends out to this event.  We need to raise awareness about how candy manufacturers are profiting off of child trafficking and how these children are being abused and neglected so that we can enjoy a bite of chocolate.  I'll see you there!

Until next time...
